i do? 幸福的抉择

Everyday as the sun rises, Summer will pray for 'him': "May God grant him strong vitality. At every sun rise, give him all the good and beautiful things, so he can be safe and happy."

Annie Liu Xin You (刘心悠) as Summer

Summer owns a small workshop named "I do", specializing in hand-made wedding gowns.

Summer lives with a cute girl named Si Yu (思雨), who works as a DJ at a Taipei radio station. Si Yu's program spans from 12am - 2am, whereby she helps to solve love problems from those who call-in during her program.

Sasa (莎莎) as Si Yu (思雨)

Joan is the photographer of Summer's shop and also her house mate. He is in love with Summer, and has refused to migrate with his family a year ago to pursue her love. But Summer has never return his feeling. She only treats him as her best buddy, as she already has someone in her heart since the incident 5 years ago...

David Chen Yu Fan (陈宇凡) as Joan (谭耀宗)

Joan and Summer stopped by a bakery shop to collect their bakery.

Flashing back 5 years ago, for some reasons Summer fell down from the roof top of a building and was rescued by a mysterious guy. She is waiting for him since then, and she still keeps his watch, wearing it everyday.

The hands that saved Summer's life

Jian Mei Li (简美莉) is Summer's long-time best friend since high school. Mei Li comes from a wealthy family who owns the Guang Da Departmental Stores (光大百货). Despite her beauty, she is snobbish and arrogant. However, she offered to lend money to Summer to pay her father's debt when his business was in trouble 5 years ago. But Summer rejected her kindness. After 5 years, Mei Li came to find Summer to become her bridesmaid as she is getting married.

Michelle Lin Li Wen (林立雯) as Jian Mei Li (简美莉)

Joan got a job as a photographer at the prestigious Wedding Cottage (婚纱庄园) at Taipei. So he resigned from Summer's shop and asked her to come along for an interview at the Wedding Cottage. The Wedding Cottage, with around 100 employees and 8 photographers, consists of the wedding gown section, florist section, accessories section, a church, reception chamber and bar.

The Wedding Cottage (婚纱庄园)

The Wedding Cottage is owned by Ren Ling Ling (任玲玲) who is also the interviewer. She rejected most of the candidates who were recommended by someone from some department of the Wedding Cottage. Summer's philosophy of the wedding gown made her decided to choose this beautiful and confident lady with no background.

Maggie Siu (邵美琪) as Ren Ling Ling (任玲玲)

Summer:"...because I think beautiful wedding gown does not belong only to the rich. Wedding gown is different from fashion. Fashion follows trend and can be replaced. People can own thousands and hundreds of fashion, but we only need one wedding gown to walk the path of marriage with the one we love. This is the greatest happiness of woman..."

Mei Li's fiance, Li Hao Zhe (李浩哲), stomped into the Wedding Cottage, accusing her of spreading rumors about them getting married, which is not true at all. He declared that he already has a person he loves.

The possessive Mei Li: "I don't care. I must marry you once this lifetime. Even if we have to divorce straight away."

Seeing this whole scene, Summer was stunned. The ignorant Mei Li introduced her to Li Hao Zhe. He too was surprised to meet her there and then, with his watch on her wrist. Summer was then led away to meet Ren Ling Ling regarding her employment; while Li Hao Zhe was dragged away by Mei Li.

Ryuusei no Kizuna 流星の絆

Thought that this will be a sad and dark drama full of suspense, as the preview said it's about 3 siblings trying to find and take revenge on the murderer who killed their parents when they were kids. But I was totally wrong. It's a comedy combined with mystery, and you will be touched by the bond between the 3 siblings.

The first episode started with this scene:
The eldest brother Ariake Ko-ichi (有明功一): "When we grow up, the three of us will find and kill the murderer."

Then, the scene moved back to November 1993 in Yokosuka (横須賀), when the 3 of them were still kids with their parents. They owned a family restaurant called Ariake (アリアケ) well-known for the Hayashi Rice (ハヤシライス), a type of Japanese Beef Stew Rice.

The young Ko-ichi planned to sneak out at night to watch the Leonid Meteor Shower (狮子座流星雨), but his secret was announced to the whole family by his frank younger brother, Ariake Taisuke (有明泰輔).

Even though both his parents forbidden him to go out alone at night, he still sneaked out with his siblings tagging along. Ko-ichi was forced to bring along his younger sister, Ariake Shizuna (有明静奈), as she was crying and shouting, wanting to follow.

While they were waiting patiently for the meteor shower, their parents were murdered at home, and they became orphans overnight...

They were sent to the St. George Orphanage by the police, Kashiwabara Yasutaka (柏原康孝) and Hagimura Shinji (萩村信二), who are investigating on this murder.

Ninomiya Kazunari (二宮和也) from Arashi (嵐) as Ariake Ko-ichi (有明功一)

The 26-year old Ko-ichi works in a curry restaurant named "George Clooney" at Tokyo Kichijyo-ji (東京吉祥寺), owned by the Principal of St. George Orphanage, Hayashi Jyo-ji (林譲二). As the eldest of the 3, he is protective towards Taisuke and Shizuna. He has to be stronger for them to depend on. He is matured, organized, a good planner but a loner. Sometimes he worries too much, and was nicknamed "Chief of the Pitiful Village" by Taisuke and Shizuna.

Hayashi Jyo-ji (林譲二), Principal of St. George Orphanage and owner of "George Clooney Curry Restaurant", who brought the 3 siblings up.

Nishikido Ryo- (錦戸亮) from NEWS as Ariake Taisuke (有明泰輔)

The 25-year old Taisuke works in a DVD shop. He is frank, impulsive, and a hot-blooded enthusiast. He is the only witness of a mysterious guy leaving their house after the murder 14 years back.

Shi visiting Tai Ni- at the DVD shop after work.
[To differentiate from Ko-ichi's "Oni-", Shizuna calls Taisuke "Tai Ni-".
And both Ko-ichi and Taisuke calls Shizuna as "Shi".]

Toda Erika (戸田恵梨香) from [Death Note] as Ariake Shizuna (有明静奈)

The 21-year old Shizuna originally works at a prestigious company. But she resigned as she was bullied by her supervisor, Takayama Hisanobu (高山久伸), who sticks many sticky notes around her. However, the main reason of her resignation is that one of her colleagues knew about her past and started to spread rumors at her back.

The weird Takayama Hisanobu, who bullies Shizuna because he likes her =.=|"

Shizuna was conned by a lady called Katsuragi Miwa (桂木美和). In order to get the money back, Ko-ichi went stalking on that lady to collect information. He was really brilliant, just by the name card given by Shizuna and without knowing what the lady looks like, he could track her down. As Ko-ichi was happy with his findings, Taisuke and Shizuna commented him as being scary, sinister and disgusting. The way they taunted Ko-ichi was really funny ^^.

The most hilarious thing in this drama is the script written by Ko-ichi: "A Letter from Canada". The casts are as follow:
Katsuragi Miwa used the money she conned from Shizuna on a guy named Kazuya (一矢) at a Host Club. So, Ko-ichi wrote the script for Shizuna and Taisuke to con the money from Kazuya, by making him falls for Shizuna. This short script was presented in a very comical way, with some scenes shown in manga with sound effects. ^o^

Will Ko-ichi the mastermind be able to find the true identity of the murderer?

Who is this guy who came to "George Clooney Curry Restaurant" 3 times in search for Hayashi Rice?

Leave a comment if you are interested in the subsequent story. ^^
